Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted on a Hetzner Cloud server in Falkenstein, Germany. When a page is requested, Apache processes the IP address, date and time, requested address, response status, referring address and browser identifier to deliver the page, diagnose errors and protect the site. Our legitimate interest in reliable and secure operation is the legal basis (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Access and error logs are rotated daily; the server is configured to keep 14 rotated log files. Hetzner provides the hosting infrastructure.

Contact by email or phone

If you contact us, we process the information you provide, such as your email address or phone number, your message and correspondence, to respond to you. The basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for enquiries concerning a contract and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for other enquiries. Email sent to tomasz@bujlow.com is received directly through our Google Workspace (Gmail) service for the bujlow.com domain. Google may process data outside the European Economic Area under its stated transfer frameworks. Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and, where applicable, to satisfy legal retention duties.

Language choice and local storage

Your browser language selects an initial site language; other languages fall back to US English. An explicit choice is stored in your browser as 'tbc-language' so subsequent visits keep that choice. You can change it on the site or clear this site's browser data. We do not use analytics, marketing pixels, social widgets or a contact form. The site's scripts do not set tracking cookies.

Links to DOI pages, LinkedIn and other external sites are opened only when you select them. Those providers process data under their own privacy notices. Their content is not embedded into this website.

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data where applicable. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us at tomasz@bujlow.com to exercise your rights. You can complain to a data protection authority, including the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner.
